Since the last post, we have been testing, testing, testing. Also, students have been constructing projects and writing papers on values. Last Thursday and Friday (October 17-18) we presented projects (see main class page for pictures) and will finish project presentations today in class. In the next few days we will also watch parts of Stagecoach with John Wayne, Dances with Wolves with Kevin Costner, and 500 Nations and discuss the image of the American west as presented in those movies.
Meanwhile, drafts of the Values paper is due today by the end of the day. You are required to set up an appointment and see me for comments about your paper by the end of this week. Second drafts are due Tuesday, October 29, although if you finish yours sooner, I will be happy to meet with you in advance of that date for your second conference.
Also, you should have part 7 of the American Indian Myths and Legends (the Trickster) read by Wednesday. We will begin discussing these stories Tuesday, so be sure you begin the reading today (you should have through page 357 completed by Tuesday for discussion).
