Hannah sent an email and had difficulties with the infographic website. So, I found piktochart.com. You can go in and set up an account using your school google account as a log-in. Then, navigate the site (there is a tutorial). There are several free themes or you can create your own on this site. Any chart without a PRO banner in the corner is free. You can save this product to your account and you can download it and save to send to me. When you have completed your product, please save as a JPEG file with your name and WOMEN as the title (Ms. Vest WOMEN) and you'll email it to me for grading by Monday.
If you find another site that you like better, feel free to use it. Please let me know the URL for my records so I can use it again.
Let me know when you need help. The project will be graded on:
1. Quality of information included. This should be an overview of a woman that should be famous in American history but probably is not. Make this a poster that would teach other students about this fabulous woman and what she did to help make this a better country.
2. Presentation. Even using the templates, you have a lot of choices. I will be looking at the choices; are you thoughtful in your presentation of material? For example, people will only read a certain amount of information in a block paragraph. How do you convey your information in a way that's lively and interesting?
3. Research. How much research did you do to gather this information? I'm looking for AT LEAST 3 good sources. You should include citations somewhere on your poster.
If I can manage it, I would like to publish these posters and put them in the hallway for viewing. Please keep that in mind and let's see your best work. This is a short research project to get your started before your research paper. Our goal is to discover what you may have for strengths and weaknesses in researching and writing. Think about that as you do this project and give me feedback so I can individualize your tasks and feedback for your research paper project.
Below is a poster I designed using OCEANIC template. I only changed to the dark blue section (I wanted to get this posted so you could see it.) What I did took about 10 minutes.
